Call For Paper (CFP) Description
*** Overview ***
TPDL is an international forum focused on digital libraries and their associated technical, practical, and social issues. The 29th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries (TPDL) will be held at Tampere University in Finland 23-26 September 2025. In addition the to main tracks there will be workshops and a PhD symposium in conjunction with the conference.
*** Workshop Proposals ***
TPDL 2025 invites submissions for workshop proposals on all topics covered by the conference and beyond. TPDL 2025 workshops will provide a platform for presenting novel ideas and emerging areas relevant for digital libraries research and practices, in a less formal and more focused way than the conference itself. Workshop proposals that advance the field of digital libraries and associated technical, practical, and social issues to new directions are especially encouraged. Workshops can be aimed at practitioners, researchers, or a mixture of both, but should be designed to be interactive and foster collaboration. Workshops may be half-day or full-day events.
Overarching topics for TPDL 2025 include, but are not limited to: Publishing Science, Information Management Science, Monitoring and Assessment of Science, Knowledge Creation and Dissemination, Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage, Human-Computer Interaction in Digital Libraries, Information Retrieval, Document Analysis and Recognition.
*** Submissions ***
Workshop proposals should be up to 4 pages plus references, and should explain the background and motivation for the workshop, brief bios of the organizers, intended audience, and expected outcome of the workshop. Workshops should be planned as in-person events mainly and it is expected that at least one workshop organizer is registering and attending the workshop in presence. Proposals should include a tentative schedule and a 100-word abstract for the workshop to be advertised on the conference website, should it be successful. Priority will be given to workshops adopting Open Access practices for publications, research data, and research software. Workshop papers will be published in Springer's Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) series.
