If they've never heard of the event, you have your answer. ### How do I spot a predatory journal? Same publisher, different racket: acceptance within 48 hours, no real review, and a flood of unsolicited "we'd love your paper" emails. Watch for invented metrics too — a "Global Impact Factor" isn't a real indexing standard, and legitimate journals don't need to make one up. ### What do predatory journals actually look like in practice? Often a near-identical name to a real journal, off by a word or a hyphen. Some publish anything submitted, AI-written papers included, with no review at all.
