About the Conference
Dear Researchers, Professionals, Students,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee of IEEE URUCON 2026 (https://urucon.uy/), we are pleased to share information regarding the Call for Papers and the Call for Abstracts for IEEE URUCON 2026, to be held in Montevideo, Uruguay, from 16 to 18 November 2026.
As the flagship conference of IEEE Uruguay, URUCON is a platform that connects engineering, applied research, academia, industry, and national development. The conference promotes scientific exchange, collaboration, and the visibility of high-impact work in science, engineering, and technology.
The Call for Papers welcomes contributions in these areas:
• Communications & Broadcast
• Power & Energy
• Instrumentation & Measurements
• Biomedical Engineering
• Signal Processing
• Computing & AI
• Engineering Education
• Technology Management
• Circuits & Systems
• Control Systems.
Submitted papers will undergo a peer-reviewed single-blind evaluation process with three reviewers, in accordance with IEEE standards. Only papers written in English will be accepted. Accepted and presented papers will be published and indexed in IEEE Xplore.
The Call for Abstracts welcomes contributions in the same areas and the following categories:
• Student - Preliminary work not yet mature for a full paper.
• Researcher - Recent research already published but interesting to be shared at the conference.
• Industry / Professional - Technological developments from industry (also welcomed as full papers).
Submitted abstracts will be evaluated by the Technical Committee. Abstracts in English and Spanish are accepted, although English is preferred. Accepted abstracts can be presented at the conference, either as oral talks or posters, at the Technical Committee's decision. Abstracts will not be indexed in IEEE Xplore, but will be compiled in a Conference Book of Abstracts.
Key dates:
* Initial paper submission deadline: 17 July 2026
* Acceptance notification: 15 September 2026
* Final paper submission: 31 October 2026
