About the Conference
We are pleased to invite submissions to the 4th ACM CoNEXT Workshop on Emerging Multimedia Systems (EMS 2026), which will be co-located with ACM CoNEXT 2026 in Utrecht, The Netherlands, December 7–10, 2026. EMS 2026 continues a successful series of workshops that bring together researchers and practitioners working on next-generation multimedia systems and networking technologies.
Multimedia is undergoing a fundamental transformation driven by immersive media, XR, AI-generated content, video analytics, volumetric media, and ultra-low-latency interactive applications. EMS 2026 aims to provide a forum for discussing emerging challenges and opportunities in the design, optimization, and deployment of advanced multimedia systems.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
Networked systems for immersive content capture, streaming, and display
AI-driven multimedia applications and generative AI systems
Volumetric media, point clouds, NeRFs, and holographic content delivery
Adaptive streaming and QoE optimization
Ultra-low-latency multimedia networking
Edge/cloud systems for multimedia applications
AR/VR/XR systems and applications
Energy-efficient multimedia systems
Machine learning for multimedia distribution and optimization
Multimedia systems for future Internet architectures
We welcome both academic and industrial contributions.
